Mission
The association exists to make technical writing more accessible and more transparent. LaTeX is essential in academic and technical publishing, yet many users struggle with installation, compilation, bibliography management, review responses, and submission checks. LatexDo addresses those problems through public software and practical educational material.
LatexDo's tools are offered free of charge. The project is built in the open so contributors and users can inspect the code, understand how decisions are made, and reuse the work in their own learning or research environments.
Activities
LatexDo maintains desktop tooling for local LaTeX compilation, public documentation, research pages, and community contribution channels. These activities are directly connected to the mission of helping people create reliable scientific, educational, and technical documents.
The association also publishes operating expense information so donors and contributors can understand the costs behind hosting, downloads, release infrastructure, and community support.
Current public activities
LatexDo's active work is published as regular HTML pages and public project resources, so visitors can review the mission without relying on private documents or PDF-only materials.

Public records and governance
Governance questions, association records, donation questions, and roadmap decisions are handled by the LatexDo board. Requests can be sent through the contact page or directly to board@latexdo.org.

Legal framework
The main law is the Loi du 1er juillet 1901 relative au contrat d'association. It defines an association as an agreement between two or more people who permanently share knowledge or activity for a purpose other than sharing profits.
The main implementing text is the Decret du 16 aout 1901 pris pour l'execution de la loi du 1er juillet 1901. It sets out the practical rules for declared associations, including declaration, publication, and administrative formalities.
Participate
People can participate by reporting bugs, improving documentation, contributing code, reviewing research workflows, or helping with governance and community support. Start from the public GitHub repository https://github.com/latexdo/latexdo.
