About the volunteer role
We're looking for a volunteer Full Stack Developer to help build and improve LatexDo's open-source research tools. You'll contribute across backend services and the frontend, helping take features from an initial idea through implementation, testing, and release.

What you'll do
- Design and implement backend services, APIs, and integrations for document workflows.
- Connect frontend interfaces to backend features and handle loading, errors, and edge cases clearly.
- Improve reliability, performance, and maintainability across the application.
- Write tests, review changes, and document the features you ship.
- Work with the team to turn user feedback into practical improvements.
What you'll bring
- Experience building applications with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Confidence designing APIs, handling data, and debugging backend behavior.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and accessible frontend interfaces.
- Comfort with Git, code reviews, and automated testing.
- An interest in open-source software and tools for research and writing.
